The Camano Center is privileged to have Mac Frampton performing solo with us on the evening of Thursday, March 14 from 7-9 before he continues on with a tour of a larger stage show. Mac Frampton has toured the world performing over 4,000 times to date and has a reputation of more than one standing ovation per performance. We heard a sampling of Mac playing Rhapsody in Blue on our Fandrich & Sons piano in the lobby four years ago and we knew our community would enjoy an evening with his incredible talents at the piano. We had him perform here at the Center on September of 2016 to a sold out crowd.
It’s difficult to describe Mac Frampton’s performances since he doesn’t really fit any one mold. Roger William’s described Mac as “The one pianist who plays with his heart as well as his head.” Other reviewers have compared him to Horowitz combined with Liberace and then add some Victor Borge humor. What can you expect to hear during Mac Frampton’s program? You may hear what Mac refers to as jazzed-up classical, or ragtime, or a medley of movie themes, TV show themes, a Disney medley or a rocking Southern Gospel medley, along with some of the standards and other arrangements he has created. Mac also often educates before he plays certain selections by giving a brief historical description of how certain pieces became popular in the music world. Be assured, there will be something for everyone of every age and often laced with much humor.
The real surprise comes at the end of the evening. His ending number will have you saying “What just happened?” if you’re able to speak and you’ll know that ending piece alone was worth far more than the price of admission. Tickets can be purchased on our event page
