National Night Out 2019
The community of Stanwood’s annual National Night Out will take place on August 6, 2019.
Similar events are held in neighborhoods and city streets every year to promote partnerships between law enforcement, fire departments and the community. Stanwood’s event has grown every year and this year will be no exception.
“We’re proud to continue the Stanwood tradition of having one of the biggest National Night Out events in the county,” said Stanwood Police Chief Norm Link. “By creating partnerships between our public safety agencies and our community members, we make our neighborhoods a safer and more caring place to live.”
Stanwood’s National Night Out event includes free hot dogs, soda, water, and candy for everybody. There will be a bouncy house, pitching radar trailer, and a K-9 demonstration. Law enforcement vehicles from many different agencies will be available for tours at the event. North County Regional Fire in conjunction with Island County Fire and Rescue will be displaying fire trucks, rescue boats, aid cars, and performing a car extraction demonstration.
Stanwood businesses will be on site with booths providing fun prizes and activities for the children. Best of all…everything is FREE to the public!
“We encourage the community to join us,” said City Mayor Kelley. “We all want to keep our families safe and this is a great way to learn how to do that while having fun with the kids.”
The City of Stanwood’s National Night Out event is held from 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, August 6, 2019 on 90th Ave. NW, Stanwood, in the old Thrifty Foods parking lot.
