Description
Planning is underway for the 1st Annual Smokey Point Community Block Party scheduled for Sunday, August 15th. Hosted by Village Community Services, an Arlington-based non-profit organization serving individuals living with various forms of disability through residential, employment, experiential, and music therapy programs, the event will offer fun outdoor activities for all ages, including delicious food, live entertainment, and an opportunity for businesses to showcase their unique products and services. The Smokey Point Community Block Party will be held at the VCS Business Office in Arlington at 3210 Smokey Point Drive from 12noon to 5pm and is free to all attendees.
“We are so excited to finally be back to a time when we can come together as a community and celebrate camaraderie and friendship,” said Michelle Dietz, Executive Director of Programs and Development at Village Community Services. “The intention behind this event is simply to reunite with our neighbors and supporters and celebrate the summer with festivity and joy. We hope that folks will stop by for some live music, delicious food, and an array of local vendors!”
The Voices of the Village ensemble band will perform at the event. While all activities and attendance are free to the public, food and beverage will be available for purchase through food trucks and local participating restaurants.
The event will adhere to all State regulated social distancing guidelines; masks are recommended for all attendees.
