Every Thursday, find Sound Water Stewards' pop-up booth at a beach on Camano Island or Hamilton Smokestack Landing in Stanwood. Come learn about marine life, beach ecosystems and ways to care for the seashore. (Different location each week. )
For audiences of all ages, Sound Water Stewards represented by Tina, offers beach-goers an opportunity to look closely at the park and the beach to see what marine life lives there via a highly-portable pop-up booth. Topics include: beach plants and wildflowers and where to find them, identification of clam shows (holes in sand), find the active or former beaver dam, a driftwood story, underwater life as viewed through an underwater ice-fishing camera, importance of proper pet poop disposal, barnacles and other marine life through a microscope, native plants and invasive species, leave no trace principles – and more.
